0002

We don't have this issue about jobs, but we do have this issue . . . why can't Mom just chillax and let life happen?!

But, then you wouldn't be their incredible and amazing mom if you were always chillin'.

ROFL - I'm trying to chill about the job thing this summer. I know Engineering guy needs some time to chill before fall.

We just CAN'T.

Because if mom just chills and lets life happen her son will never wear anything but pajamas and her daughter will smash banana bread all over the carpet and then her mother in law will come over and smirk.

I get this all the time. I tell the kids that it's not my job to chill and just let things happen. Because they won't. Happen, that is. If I didn't nag, Son One would still be in our basement playing video games, not employed and feeling better about himself than he has in a long time. Son Two would have been devoured by the creatures growing in the half-empty drinking glasses and bowls of leftovers in his room. Daughter would be fine. She's like that. Is it just boys?

Have a great day Jenn! "Chillax" -- just for today.

heh.

It's only because you CARE!

I'm with Memarie Lane, maybe it is just boys. My 17 yo son says he wants a job but seems to be waiting for the magic job fairy to bestow one on him. My 13 yo daughter works her booty off around the house and the minute she turns 16, I know she'll get a job that day.

In my case it is because I am too busy making sure everyone else is chillaxing for me to let myself do it.

Well, they obviously haven't heard that mothers everywhere are protesting the boomerang kid syndrome, and we've discovered this kind of social over haul requires lots of nagging.

KT got a full time job nannying this summer. I kept thinking NOOOOOOOO!!!! You only have a couple summers left to be a kid. Maybe I'm too chilled?

I wish I was more chillin' - not much though!

Hope you had a good weekend - Kellan

"Because It's my job to nag you" that's what I tell 'em. Besides, where do they turn when they need/want something? particularly something that requires planning???

On the boy/girl thing: (and I have 15YO twins) while the Daughter has college all mapped out and Son wants to just go where he can snowboard...Son is more active in planning for a job and has been helping around the house a lot more than Daughter who has become Princess Royale

Oh boy, so *this* is how it will go huh? I'll be ready...I think.

You mean it isn't my #1 job to nag? Oh no.

Why, indeed! My kids would ask the same question as yours. Are we related?

this is purrfect for my n'bor
teen son, all they talked about for months was his summer job prospects .. and now he has a job. yay.
