I am desperately trying to come up with a good excuse to get out of being a catechist aide this year at CCD - I'm not comfortable with the catechist I am working with, I really need to spend the time working at my job that actually pays me money, and I just don't feel like spending a couple of hours a week planning the crafts for the class.

Selfish - it's the new black.

I am SOOOOOOO HAPPY that school has started back up!! My child is out of the house for 7 1/2 beautiful hours! I do love her...it's just been a really long summer.

I hate the middle school here. It is making my son's life hell. I wish I had enough gumption to pull him out and home school him, but I'm not sure that would be the best either.
And I'm wanting to crawl in bed and just get over this cold, but we all know that aint gonna happen.

Gretchen

I'm so happy my husband is out of town this weekend. I intend to have wine for dinner, and not much else!

I am having a dilemma with the blogging world. To me, some bloggers write posts that are screaming for help, but everyone just writes a typical "Hope it gets better...Yea, I know what you mean..." comment. I struggle with this. If this person was my real life, in person friend, and said these things to me, what would my response be? Shouldn't it be the same response in the blog world?

I LOVE IT!!! My house is empty all day long and I'm cleaning in the corners and around the edges, getting rid of things we've walked past too long...and I eat a Twinkie every morning with my coffee at 10:30.

I haven't cleaned my house in WEEKS and I don't intend to clean it this weekend either. I'm sick and I just don't have the energy.

Looking forward to a lazy weekend....sleep, how I love thee!!!

I hate the suburban churn of activities, but I really love the kids and not only do I love my kids, I actually like them 99% of the time. Such an improvement from the whiny, clingy, helpless years!

Ashley

I sent my kids to bed at their "school night" bedtime, though on Fridays & Saturdays we usually let them stay up later. I told them it was because I want them fresh so we can go to this big craft fair in Chicago tomorrow (which means commuting on the train and then walking for hours).

Really I just wanted them to go to bed so I could work some more on my family tree . . . Facebook . . . read blogs . . . listen to music . . . and just be ALONE. This not-shy-introvert never seems to get enough alone hours to recharge every week. Gah.

My son doesn't start Kindergarten until next Wednesday! HE NEEDS TO NOT BE WITH ME ALL DAY, EVERY DAY!! N.O.W.!!

Cindy

I have completely procrastinated on finishing my masters thesis. Now if I dont finish in the next couple of weeks, I am going to lose my job. I am working on it but really....i just don't want to write it.

I feel absolutely no emotion regarding September 11, except a little annoyance that everyone suddenly finds a reason to be hateful or obnoxiously patriotic.

My entire news feed on facebook is people posting about how they will never forget. We just passed the 5th anniversary of Hurricaine Katrina and I and my friend who is still displaced from NOLA are the only ones who said anything about it. To me, that was an even bigger tragedy because it's one our own government allowed to happen to its own people, and the aftermath is even more devastating and ongoing, because people down there are still fighting to get their lives back to some semblance of normal.

The busiest 2 months of the year have begun and I feel like having a tantrum because I have no free Saturday until mid-November, if even then. Just writing that made my head hurt worse than it did when I woke up this morning.
