Looks beautiful!

There are only so many hours in the day, and while I love a clean house as much as the next person (ok, maybe more because of my OCD tendencies), I try to remind myself to take advantage of fun opportunities/time to exercise/times to chillax and watch tv or read. The bathtub can always be scrubbed another day, right?

Really? All it takes is a little bleach on a toothbrush? Off to try it on my kitchen floor!

This is where you and I are identical. My standards are so much higher than those around me....but alas, I have too lowered my standards lately. Lazy? Tired? Bad eyes??? LOL
I hope the party was a success!

I can totally relate - only I have ALWAYS been a working mom so I always knew my limitations and have avoided white ANYTHING like the plague :-) And yes, I too accept lower standards when the boys clean because it just has to be that way.

OTOH, about 4-5 weeks ago now I did a major kitchen cabinet and counter inside and out cleanup and I have actually managed to keep it up! That's my room and the place I need to see clean to my standards in order for my brain to feel restful at home. The rest of it? Covered in cat hair and I don't mind!

My SIL has tile like that on her kitchen counters. She did it herself (she does tiling for self-employment) and while she still claims she loves the look, I've never seen it really cleaned up like that. It just takes a lot of time to stay on top of it and she has a super-busy life.

PS: I hear that vinegar and baking soda also do wonders on grout. It sure cleans up my white enamel sinks!

Green Girl in Wisconsin

It's silly sounding, but I'm always so proud when I scrub our grout, too. YOurs looks AWESOME.

GAWD but it's hard to balance out "will I really regret a not-pristine-house on my death bed" and "crikey, this could look better" values. The grout looks so much better in the last shot, but, well, it wasn't all that bad to begin with.

In short, I feel ya, sister.
