Since Wednesdays are my barely-time-to-breathe days, I thought I'd steal borrow an idea of seen on other blogs. I'm calling it (Almost) Wordless Wednesday because being wordless is impossible for me is not really my style.
I loved Mary Alice's tour of her sister's home, and the idea of our possessions providing insight into who we are.
This is my dining room table. I resisted the urge to polish it, and to remove the plastic tub sitting on the chair in the background that holds the photos that I was sorting through before I started this blog. I refuse to put it away, because, all evidence to the contrary, I am going to finish what I started. The Cala Lillies are from my mom's house (she died in 2002). They are real flowers that have been coated in something to make them last forever. The flowers were originally in a different vase, but Danger Boy broke it. Then I cried, then he cried, then I remembered the vase my mother had given to me for my birthday one year and put them in that, and I probably like them even better this way.
The amount of sunlight in my great room (of which the dining area is a part) makes me happy all the time.
Wow -- those are beautiful! I would love the sunlight pouring in over those flowers and that vase, too. :)

Calla Lillies are probably my favorite flowers. Of course, mine would never be sitting on such an empty, beautiful table...hard to get the full effect with the newspapers, various toys, books, etc., that tend to gravitate to that central point in our house!
That was the perfect time to take a photo!!

Beautiful. I love calla lillies. I like that you didn't "edit" your room for the photo. I also like the Wordless Wednesday idea and plan to steal it from you!

Those flowers are beautiful. I should find out what product it is that keeps flowers like that, it'd make a good gift I think.

What a beautiful idea: for a post, for flowers, and for a way to keep a memory! (What DID you spray on them?)
