I am Woman, hear me roar;
before I collapse right on the floor
My Yesterday:
Drive carpool.
Work in fifth-grade classroom for field practicum.
Go to lit class and take exam.
Get a phone call from my sister-in-law; she needs somewhere to stay for the weekend for a funeral. No problem, of course the four of them (including toddlers) can stay with us
Do a Costco run so we have adequate milk, etc.
Realize I need a black pair of nylons for the funeral. Detour to Kohls.
Get home at 4:45.
Enlist teenagers’ help in putting away groceries, washing sheets and towels and generally cleaning the guest bedroom. Especially the spot on the carpet where the cat threw up.
Start dinner. Fail to find recipe I’ve had for twenty years. Make Chile Relleno Casserole from memory instead.
Blog a little (just to maintain sanity).
Eat dinner.
Start homework and powerpoint presentation for the art lesson I’m teaching tomorrow.
Look up and realize that what had appeared to be a previously fairly clean house is IN NO SHAPE FOR COMPANY!
Begin frenzied cleaning/dusting/vacuuming/scrubbing regimen.
Pause to dispose of the dead bodies of family members who suggested I just “chillax.”
Realize at 11 p.m. that I never ironed the black pants I plan on wearing tomorrow.
Decide I probably will not manage to read volume 1 of Pride and Prejudice tonight. Ya' think?
Well you're just running through the day like one big (yet, oh so fashionable!!) hurricane!!! Oh Man! When you put your day down like that...well...that's just madness!!! I hope that you can find at least a few moments to yourself to...just...be. A very large closet, maybe!??! I hope you survive...I'm sure you will, but it's always nice to hear/read someone say/type that!!!

Oh the life an adult student with teenagers. We do more before bedtime than most traditional college students do all week. ((Hug)) Strength. Peace. Take a deep breath...and remember it may be hard but it's worth it in the end...at least I sure the H-E-double hockey stick hope so!

Sounds very familiar.
I do so much of my work between the hours of 3am and 7am because the rest of my day just seems to get gobbled up. It's fine while you keep going - but if I ever sit down without a computer or a pen, I just fall asleep regardless of what time of day it is.
Hope you manage to find some time to relax over the weekend.

Oh, I feel exhausted just reading your day - hope you get to put your feet up tomorrow!

All in a day in the life... Sorry to hear you have to attend a funeral.
Hey, P&P vol 1 is only the first 23 chapters. Just sparknotes it. That part is pretty dull anyway, just introduces you to the Bennett Family. Mr. Bennett is a sarcastic witty guy who likes to rattle his wife's cage. Mrs. Bennett's goal in life is to marry off her daughters. And there are 5 daughters. The first volume introduces you to each one as well as the few single men in town. Haha, the prey!
There. You are now prepared for Brit Lit class! ::thumbs up::

I'm ready to go back to bed after reading that. Hang in there. :)

On Monday, youngest kidlet has a doc's appointment at 9 in the morning, while oldest kidlet has her appointment in the afternoon in the opposite direction, while at the same time I have a meeting to attend also in the afternoon.
A mom's life is never easy or dull. My mom always said that the only time we get to rest in when we are dead, which I'm sure she heard from her grandma (who raised her).
On that note, I hope that after the funeral, your week-end gets better. You deserve a day to 'chillax'.

I'm tired just reading this post!
I hate it when my husband tells me to relax when I'm running around the house trying to clean up for company...
