Really idiotic new baby picture courtesy of Glendale Memorial Hospital and the Dippity-Do corporation.
My birthday is smack in the middle of our family's Birthday Bonanza. Between February and May there are about 20 birthdays, including cousins and in-laws, around Casa Juggling Life. Whew.
Of course once you have kids your own your birthday just isn't as vitally important as it once was. My family is great about making sure I have a special day though. I've had a homemade cheesecake dumped in my lap by Grown-up Girl (before she was grown-up!), delicious meals made by Big Red, Danger Boy was himself an early bday present one year, Social Butterfly always gets great presents, and Mr. Fix-it arranged the best surprise birthday party ever for my 40th.
It makes me sad when other mothers tell me that their family didn't do anything for their birthday, or that they made their own cake. Something is wrong when your family doesn't show you that they value you in the same way you value them.
Since it is my birthday I thought I'd ask for a special present from all of you . . . In honor of my 44th birthday (which I'm going to have to concede certainly probably does make me middle-aged), I'd LOVE to get 44 comments. 32 is my high up to this point; my statcounter tells me I have a fair number of lurkers and I know I have friends and family that read but don't comment (yes, Grown-up Girl I'm talking to you), so it should be totally doable. You don't have to write a novel, just a Happy Birthday! will suffice.
For those of you who've never commented on a blog, just click comment (at the bottom of the post). You don't need to sign in. Just put your name and e-mail address in their appropriate boxes. You can post as anonymous if you wish. It asks for your URL, but just ignore that if you don't have a blog.
So, um yeah, please comment. I'm going to feel like a real idiot if I don't get any comments. And you must know how hard it is for a Controlly McController such as myself to turn control over to someone else (that would be you). Hey Ma, look I'm doing it!
Yeah! I think I am the first of your 44 today!
(I bet you get more than 44, but it won't make you older)
Happy Birthday Jen.
I wish you a great day with your family and a fantastic year to come.
I agree...everyone needs to be fussed over on their special day, especially Moms!
happy happy happy day to you!

Happy Birthday!
And I'm not even a lurker - this is my first visit - because I keep seeing your name around. Good luck getting 44 comments.

Da-da-da-da-da-da-dum! (boom, boom, boom)
That's just my rendition of the opening of your Beatles song...
Happy Birthday!
I'm lovin' the dippity-do picture, but I have to admit, your current hairstyle is better. :)

Grattis paa Foedelsedagen. Congratulations in Swedish (the double vowel and diphtong saves you getting a bunch of squiggleys instead of letters!)
Enjoy your day!

Happy birthday! You know what I say (and I'm OLDER than you so listen up) "I feel exactly the same as I did when I was twenty one; I just have more money and better hair!"

I see that foreign language sentiments are in order, so I'll add
Herzliche Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag!
Or, as we have been known to sing:
Happy Birthday to you
Marmalade im Schuh!
...but not those cute new red ones! :)

Happy Birthday!
We sing this at school:
Today, today, today, today
Today is Jenn's birthday!
Today, today, today, today
Today is Jenn's birthday!
It's not the pickle's or the pear's,
It's not the elephant's or the bear's.
Today, today, today, today
Today is Jenn's birthday!

Many many more are wished for you.

Happy Birthday. You are only two years older than me. My husband also threw me a surprise 40th birthday party. Both of us are obviously married to a couple of really fabulous guys!
I'm also posting a link to this on my blog to try to direct some traffic over this way.
Here's to one of your best years ever!

HAPPY 44th BIRTHDAY from one of your lurkers!
I see that the comments are up to 44 at the moment, but you always need that extra one (just like bday candles) for good luck, right?
Keep on writing and I'll keep on reading! Love your blog. Hope you have a fantastic day.

Happy Birthday dear Jenn! Your blog always is a joy to read. And it is a pleasure to be your 46th commenter!!!
Posted by: JCK | March 28, 2008 at 11:34 PM
Hey "Jenn". Way to call me out! And for the record I was already *planning* on commenting, so you just ruined my good intentions with your catty-ness, way to go! And that bit about me dumping your birthday cheesecake in your lap was soooo unnecessary. In other news, I see you already have your 44+ comments, so I can't help out there... but you should know that regardless of how much you try to compete with me ("How many prescriptions does your pharmacy fill on a Monday? Only 400? OMG, *my* pharmacy fills 8,924,117!!") and call me to brag about your grades and such, you're still the best mom I could have asked for... which is good news since I'm apparently turning into you. You've never had to do anything for me, never had to take me in, never had to treat me exactly as if I was your own daughter, and yet I've never sensed the slightest bit of reticence or regret from you, and it means the world. I love you Mom. I hope your birthday is the best.

Happy 44th Birthday to the best Sister I have!!!! All my Love! T :) XOXOXOXOXOXO

Hooray Birthday! I hope it was full of joyful joy-y joyousness. In light of Grown Up Girl and I being too far away to sing to you personally I have commissioned a lesser known group to sing two versions of the song for you! One of which may or may not have been quoted in your journal entry's title. Happy Birthday "Jenn" O_o :) I hope these songs and birthday wishes find you well :)
