It's been a busy week and kind of a blur. MVP and I have had lots of bonding time. First there was the zoo, then Urgent Care (twice--we had to do a wound recheck. "Just stop by for a minute on Thursday" said the Doc. Hahahahaha). Additionally there was the 3 hour Cheerfest, to cap off Cheer Camp, he attended at my behest ("You won't be able to see Social Butterfly cheer at any games because you'll be away at school."). Sorry son.
It was Cheeribble (horrible, only with cheerleading). 3 hours of cheerleading is about 2 hours 45 minutes too many.
MVP: Tell me this doesn't look like a Hitler Youth rally.
Then, at the end, the instructors did this slo-mo, apparently symbolism filled cheer for the girls (and boy) at the camp. I totally did not get it.
Me (To friend who is also cheer mom who is also highly cynical): WTF?!
Cynical Friend: It's Quaalude Cheerleading
Me: Are they on 'ludes or should we be on 'ludes to watch it?
CF: Both I think.
I think Cynical Friend and I will sit together at the games. We'll go BYO on the drugs.
I look at that photo and wonder why I SO badly wanted to be a part of that world?!

It's like watching masses of Heroes promos all at once.

I always thought cheerleading and Scientology would go well together. ;)

We will miss MVPs smart remarks when he is away at school!

MVP's intelligent wit makes me laugh.
We finished out band camp with a show and potluck. The director's jokes were the same as last year. I like the man, but he needs some new ones.

Your son is hilarious,as are you and your friend! My great friend is a cheer coach at a local highschool so Chickie Girl goes to her cheer camps and we go to games just so we can watch the cheerleaders. That is soooo not my thing. I may have to steal your drug idea of this is really a road we are travelling!

That is too much cheering. I think I'd have a headache. Or I'd drink beer and make the pain stop;)

DId you see the Chinese cheerleaders the other night on the olympics? That doesn't seem right either somehow.

I think Hitler might have objected to the skirt length.

Cynical friends are absolutely a must-have, especially during the teen years
(our kids, not ours).

Hahaha! 3 hours of cheerleading is 2 hours and 45 minutes too long! LOL! I so agree!

Too funny! Cheering would kind of send me over the edge anyway, but quaaludes would help.

Tee-hee! I love snarky remarks about cheerleaders. Mainly because I was way too dorky and uncoordinated to be one.
