Watching the debate at my house is a family affair. Even distance doesn't matter--Music Man and I may be separated by 150 miles but we do have instant messaging and the same obsessive intense devotion to all things political.
McCain is extolling the virtues of Sarah Palin.
Danger Boy (sotto voice): Oooh, she's a Maverick alright!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mr. Fix-it: Fun with TiVo!
replaying McCain's eye-rolling several times.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Social Butterfly: Why is he making it sound like some people like abortions?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why yes, apparently I have been successful in indoctrinating promoting my political and social beliefs in my children. What makes you ask?
Haha!! The apple is not falling far is it?

It's a family affair here, also. I thank Tina Fey for getting my teens so interested in the election.

Even my 8 and 10 y.o. are into the election. And, like you, I've fully shared my beliefs with my children.

I love that you're all on the same page! We're not at my house and at times it really bites.

Well . . . you've seen our front door sign.

I should tape the conversation between my husband and I during the debates. It would be hysterical. It would include "What a dork!" quite a bit.

Yep, it's politics around here, too. Even my six year old has an interest!

Good work, Jenn. My daughter once had a friend over to spend the night during one of the Bush/Kerry debates. The friend's mom told me later that her daughter said watching the debate at our house was like watching a sporting event. It is.

One of the things that I have thoroughly enjoyed as my children have gotten older is being able to talk politics with them.

Ha! When McCain said that SP is a hero for all women, I snorted. Then Hugo marched his little toddler self around the house snorting too...

Alexis asked me the other day who I was going to vote for - I asked who she is going to vote for and she said, "Who ever you vote for" - she's the only one that cares a things about what I really think - tee hee - she's only 7 - she can't even vote yet.
Have a good weekend, Jenn- see you - Kellan

VERY funny Jenn. it goes both ways too. we find the silly stuff on both sides of the table. I am so over the politics. really, I don't think anything will be different either way. I am just over it all.....
take care,
suz.

I love how the whole family gets into it. :)
I am enjoying finding things wrong with each candidate...is this wrong? I just wanted them to all play fair and discuss the issues instead of attacking, ever! Lay it all on the table for us all to view and make our own decisions. Geez!

Ha! Sounds like you are all Mavericky, yourself!

OH, your family sounds fun. It really, really does!

Its very good that you include your kids in open political discussions - I see that as like setting an example of good civic behavior. NOT like slapping a sign on your small children and parading them in front of a women's clinic at an antiabortion rally. When I drive by and see that I just want to yell out "your time would be better spent working at a shelter!"

My 11 year old son told me that he was having an argument with another boy at school. I asked him what about? He said, "That guy is voting for McCain and I'm voting for Obama". I told him, "you're in jr. high. Neither of you is voting, period. But I admire your spirit, son!"
