There will be no pictures of the dress. Danger Boy is both an impatient and untalented photographer who managed to take 15 blurry photos. Grrr. I will try again when we attend the party for the San Francisco branch in January.
I was dressed appropriately--in a knee-length black chiffon with tiered ruffles (but not too many) and a jewel neckline. A lot of the women had their hair done, but I'm not really an updo kind of gal, so I would have skipped that even if I had known. I will say that I was in the minority by not maximizing my "assets" to their fullest (think Jennifer Hudson at the Oscars when you kept thinking "oh no, they're coming out!).
In lieu of the dress, I give you toenails and earrings . . .
I've mentioned my husband gives good jewelry? These diamond chandelier earrings are even prettier in real life.
Some things I realized at the party:
I am no longer willing to "pop it likes it hot" unless I drink a bottle of Dom Perignon first. Well drinks do not do the trick. It's probably just as well.
Even if you don't know the people involved, a marriage proposal will bring tears to your eyes.
It is nice to hear what a wonderful, hard-working man your husband is and how lucky the company is to have him.
It's really all you can do to nod and smile when you're with 150 people who know each other, but not you.
It sounds like a fun night. I would wilt much more than that in a room full of strangers.

I'm just playing catch-up and read what a hassle it was to even find out what the attire was...you didn't really expect to get a good photo the first time did you?? lol (Love, love, love those earrings!
I cringe a the thought of socializing with 150 strangers. We decided long ago to not do the company parties. :::shudder:::

OK, I'm curious about how many times THIS one will post...

I'd say you looked CLASSY.
It's been a few years since we had to make a show at one of dh's "company" parties - a huge relief to me.

Fabulous earrings!
Well done, you behavior was impeccable!
My BF got squiffy at her husbands work 'do' and managed to insult his boss!

I heart your earrings...and your toes are just adorable.
Glad you had fun...I am with you on the well drinks...yuck.

I'm sure you looked fabulous. I can't imagine spending the evening with 150 strangers, so you're a better woman than I am.

Posting a pic of the earings does NOT get you out of showing us the dress.

Love the earrings and toes. We bailed out on going to my husband's party. Too tired.

Nice earrings! And better you than me, sister. I can think of few things I'd enjoy less than a party filled with people I don't know.

Gorgeous earrings! Toes aren't bad either...
Posted by: Alesia | December 15, 2008 at 11:07 AM
We at least know you looked great at head and at toe, so I'll assume the middle went well, too.
Sounds like a swell time--a proposal? Complements to your husband? Scary amounts of cleavage? Gee!

Another shoe shot?! You are killing me. (I have a shoe post coming up and I will be linking to you).
Also, I am secure enough (or goody two shoes enough) to ask,
what is "pop it likes it hot"?

I'm glad you went and had a good time :-) Love those earrings!

It is painful repeating the same small talk over and over with a large group of people who know your spouse, but not you. Looking fabulous is a nice consolation though! Pretty toes...pretty earring...I still want to see the dress.

I think you should have a contest and give those earrings away. Possibly to me.

I remember how little credit some of my coworkers gave to our founder/chairman's wife. I had the opportunity to see her in action at several high-falutin' functions and would never, ever underestimate her importance in the company's success.
Here's to the good woman behind the good man!
And the earrings kick ass!

Fabulous toes and wonderful earrings!!!
And I am so glad you got to the bottom of the dress attire!

Gorgeous toes and earrings! Glad you had fun.
Poppin' it likes it's hot for 40 years,

Wow. I unwittingly showed how ill-equipped I am to pop it like it's hot with the lame-ass typo "likes it hot."
(Even tho I do)

Sounds like fun and it does feel good when we hear good things about our husband

Oh my I'm giggling. You're cute. To answer jenrantsraves it's a line from a song by Snoop Dog.
