I love that damn cartoon!!!

So true! If a person can fall asleep while standing up with their eyes open, I think I can probably find you a couple dozen parents doing it in the Santa line at the mall.

Little Miss Sunshine State

And then you get to the front of the line and your toddler screams because she doesn't want to get near the big, scary Santa.

I just had a 1989 flashback!

Jen on the Edge

We never did this because our girls always knew that the Mall Santa wasn't the Real Santa.

We were watching some Christmas movie and one scene was in a mall with kids waiting for Santa...the boys had a really hard time understanding this. Issei was all like "don't they know that's not the real Santa?" Obviously, he and JenOnthe Edge's girls are smarter than the average bears!!

ONCE! I did it one time and that was enough for me. My girls were babies, 1 and 2 years old, and I waited for an eternity to get their picture with Santa. Once we got up the line, they both screamed their heads off and I paid for a picture of 2 purple babies with a bored Santa. Never again!

Green Girl

For the few years they offered it, I paid for our kids to do Christmas with Santa at the local art center. I've no idea why they quit doing it--it always sold out and it was intimate and their Santa was a go-od one. But (sigh) they quit and I don't have a clue where else to bring them where it wouldn't be a cheap or shoddy experience.

My grandson finally got to sit on Santa's lap and then he just stared at him for 5 minutes. Got out of line... he wanted to go back again... more staring.

Suzanne

I love it.
I tried to talk the girls into letting me have their pic w/ Santa this year...you would have thought I asked them to walk through the mall naked. the groans!!!!

San Diego Momma

I've got a thing about mall Santas. And I know it's my own neuroses talking...but I find them creepy. I always imagine them going home to a fifth of gin and carton of smokes after their shift.

So true. The kids only went to see Santa a few times, and that was at our local drugstore (free and never a line), before deciding letters would suffice.

Manic Mommy

I have no illusions that it's about them. I have all the Santa pictures since HRH was born displayed at Christmas. I figure I'm due a little payback.

Fannie

We have a couple of cute ones and a couple of scremaers. Isn't this some parenting rite of passage?

Angie @ KEEP BELIEVING

We go to Santa when we assume he won't be bombarded. Unfortunately, as you read in our post, we also apparently choose to see Santa when he takes a one hour pee break.

KEEP BELIEVING

Grandy

I was always grateful for Santa at the old company Christmas parties (not the ones like I just mentioned over at my blog). ;)

Kellan

Cute - French for boredom - tee hee!!

Have a great week - Kellan

*grin*
We only saw Santa when he was at dh's family/work party. The screaming baby pictures were the cutest! (Does that make me a baby mommy?)
