The winner of the sunscreen was #10 (randomly generated).
Always looking for something light and non-greasy. I hate feeling like I'm suffocating under a layer of that heavy goop. Will give it a try!

Send me your info, Arli and I will get it out to you a.s.a.p.
This week's giveaway is really too cool. When Street Surfing offered me one of their new Wave boards to either review or give away I told them I'd do a giveaway. Then I opened the box and my kids yelled at me; "What do you mean you picked giving it away?" So it turns out I'm giving away an almost brand new Wave board--the kids just had to give it a shot.
What these pictures tell you:
The Wave Board promotes friendship--it definitely helps to have a friend help you get started.
The Wave Board can be ridden--it's not easy and you have to work on it (which makes it perfect for summer--kids have time to devote to the learning curve).
It's great for teenagers because it provides an innocent opportunity for flirting.I'll probably get in trouble for writing this.
When I whine about May Gray and June Gloom on Facebook, I am not kidding. Come on! This was a June afternoon in inland San Diego.
The Wave board is suitable for a wide range of ages (though it's a good thing 45-year old moms aren't their target demographic--I can barely stand on a regular skateboard). The Street Surfing website contains lots of cool videos of boarders doing amazing stuff on the Wave board, so you might want to check it out.
Leave a comment and I'll pick a winner (randomly) next Friday. If you win your kid(s) won't be able to pull the "I'm bored" card all summer; they'll be too busy mastering the Wave board.
I wish my neighborhood had kids :( Wrestling Fan would get a kick out of this.
(Btw, did I ever tell you that we lived in Chula Vista for a couple of years when I was a kid?)

My sons have these (well, they have Alive boards which are pretty much the same) and they love them. They say it is a lot like snowboarding but without the snow!
Posted by: Reluctant Blogger | June 19, 2009 at 05:16 AM
Wow, that looks cool.
Not for me . . . but my boys. Anything that will take them away from xbox -- would be terrific!!
Thanks for the chance.
Posted by: diane | June 19, 2009 at 07:27 AM
That looks like fun. We have a long board that we all play with.
Posted by: Mary Alice | June 19, 2009 at 07:45 AM
Reminds me of the time I told my son moms can TOO snow board....thirty seconds before wiping out!!!!! Pick me...I haven't had a good back injury in months!!!
Posted by: mysuestories | June 19, 2009 at 07:52 AM
That looks like so much fun!
Posted by: Johannarupp@yahoo.com | June 19, 2009 at 08:28 AM
If I win, I promise to not try it and subsequently injure myself. Besides, it's more fun to watch teenage boys wipe out! :)
But part of me would want to just mail it back to you for your kids because they look like they are having so much fun (and DangerBoy looks like a natural)!

Sign me up, Jenn. ER, here we come!
Posted by: tysdaddy | June 19, 2009 at 09:28 AM
My daughter TOTALLY wants one of these. We had a rather interesting encounter with a regular skateboard at Christmas time. Let's say the skateboard won. If I win, I promise to take turns on it with her. After I have the baby of course...
Posted by: MissM | June 19, 2009 at 09:48 AM
That looks like SOOOOOO much fun. C'mon Jen, you have to pick some landlocked Midwesterners to win StreetSurfing!
Posted by: Green Girl in Wisconsin | June 19, 2009 at 10:08 AM
I love those things! My kids have them, we call them Rip-Sticks, but it's the same thing. I spent all of an afternoon being properly schooled on how to use it by a nine year old, and I actually can do it now.
:)

I'd love to see my six-year old on that puppy! Thanks for the give away -- and for the link to Suburban Turmoil on my blog. Wow. Who knew. I marvel at how people can turn their blogs into financially sustaining enterprises. . . .

You are so right! Good thing it is aimed at the younger generation!.
I couldn't imagine which body part I would "wave" goodbye to just trying The Wave!

ooh! my monkey just learned how to ride her bike. (better late than never right?) if she got one, it could be another thing i could ground her from until she cleans her room.
Posted by: zeghsy | June 19, 2009 at 01:05 PM
My son's been wanting one of these contraptions for a while! Looks like fun. Is it easy to fall off of?
BTW, I have a litte contest for a free book for anyone with a college-bound kid! Jen, aren't you on the same college boat as me?? Maybe you'd like to give it a shot?
Posted by: Suzette | June 19, 2009 at 01:14 PM
My daughter would love that! Too cool :)
Posted by: Val | June 19, 2009 at 01:37 PM
My kids would love to play with that. I probably wouldn't be able to watch though!
Posted by: Mom Taxi Julie | June 19, 2009 at 02:16 PM
My son was watching some kids ride on those while we waited in a parking lot - he kept saying he'd like to try that too. I agree with the other posts - what a great way to get them out of the house and "on the street". Thanks for the chance to win!

Posted by: nashvegas | June 22, 2009 at 12:01 PM
I think I'll leave that to my husband and son. Our summer camping plans just fell through. I'd love to give this to Tyler as a cheer up gift!

I've never seen or heard of these, but they look fun! :)
I have two teenage girls and a young boy who would probably love to try this as they like skateboarding.
I linked over to you from the Woman's Colony, and love all your posts I've read so far!

im lovin it already!

They say that you must twist your body to keep the board moving. Maybe good for a mom who could shake a few pounds off. Or for the kids to keep them busy over the summer.

Female fashion models who work with the designers throughout the season are also in the competition. Each week, as the number of designers dwindle, the number of models are also reduced, with one model remaining at the end. Models are randomly pre-assigned to a designer during the first challenge, and from the second challenge onwards, the designers will have an opportunity to pick the model they wish to work with. This usually happens during the start of every episode save for the first, with the winner of the previous challenge receiving first pick, and the other designers picking models in order through host Klum's random draw of large red shirt buttons with their names stored in a black velvet bag. Though, there are times when only the winning designer will be given the choice to pick with the following choices: either keep his or her previous model, take the losing designer's model Project Runway from the last challenge, or switch models with another competing designer

Place timers on a few of your inside lights to give the appearance that someone is home. It is always smart to vary the time every few days so that a pattern is not realized, if you are being cased. X10 makes a variable timer that will change the timing for you automatically.
