If you haven't entered yesterday's giveaway, check it out.
Saturday, for our 22nd anniversary, my husband bought us (okay, me, but it was expensive and he takes the very occasional photo as well) a new lens for my Canon Rebel (you may remember that I oh-so-stupidly knocked my camera off a table and broke the lens on it while on vacation a few weeks ago).
Of course I love my husband more, but I do so love my new Quantary 18-200 lens. What can you do with an 18-200 lens? Without moving an inch you can take these two pictures.
We wandered around Seaport Village so I could play with my camera.
Then we drove to Coronado so I could play some more. That house? Is mine if I hit the big lotto jackpot someday. It's half a block from the beach, people! The metal work in the left column is part of a door--it was gorgeous.
All that walking and picture taking was very tiring and made us hungry and thirsty. So we popped in here for the most expensive meal we've ever eaten (We are soooo not expensive restaurant people. We tasty-but-cheap restaurant people). While eating dinner we decided we would like to be rich and own a yacht.
We ended the bloggable portion of the day with Rescue Me Season 4 Disc 2 (the couple that obsesses over TV shows together, stays together apparently).
I love this 'date' so much. Sounds perfect to me...I know you will both enjoy your new lens for a long, long time...knowing that NO ONE will drop this one. ;)
Is that MR. Fix it in the first pic? If so, he looks very, very young. That would be a compliment.

Your photos are beautiful! Wonderful gift.
I love Rescue Me...so trashy yet so fun.

Your last sentence sums up my own marriage. We have a nightly date over tv on DVD; it gives us something in common each day.
Gorgeous pictures. I so know what you mean about the joys of a good lens. And a good man.

Hey, we have the same camera! I've been lusting after a new zoom lens. My old one doesn't have the anti-shake feature. :(
Happy Anniversary!

Those pictures are gorgeous! Did you take classes? I've got the point and shoot and would *think* about taking the next step if I could get pics like that.
I loved living your day vicariously. Sometimes, really expensive dinners are what's called for.

Boy, I don't know. You get a new lens and all of a sudden you're moving into a mansion and eyeing a sailboat/yacht.
I've gotta figure that one out.

I love my Canon Rebel! And, I have decided that I would also like to be rich. Must be something about that camera.

I'm with you on the TV obsession keeping people together. (Happy anniversary again!)
And color me bold green with envy over that camera. Of course if I got one, I'd never get anything done other than taking pictures of everyone & thing in my path. That doesn't sound half bad, actually...

I'm a tiny bit dreaming of some day when I have a room that can be my craft room again. I had one for a few years before my 2nd child came along :)
