If you ever want to see the entire administration and teaching staff of a school run, I have just the thing.
What worked at my school today was that about 5 minutes after the dismissal bell rang, as the street, sidewalks and playground were full to bursting with rain-soaked students and parents picking up their kids, a power line adjacent to the blacktop ripped loose in the high winds, there was a blinding flash and then the live wire whipped around and around.
Would you believe that nobody was hurt? It’s hard to believe. I’d say it was about 3 minutes before there was a full complement of police and fire personnel. Your tax dollars at work (thank goodness).
Whew. That will get your adrenaline going.
I need a better comment than "Holy crap," as I use it too much. But that's all that comes to mind right now, for this situation: HOLY CRAP. I'm so glad no one was hurt. Crikey. (hey, there's a new one!)
Oh, and, YES, of course, please use the post for the Kitchen at the Women's Colony! Flattered as ever, dear.

Yikes! I am picturing the complete bedlam. So glad no one was hurt. Never a dull moment, huh?

Oh my gosh...that is so frightening. I am so happy no one was hurt, this could have been devastating to many.

Thank God the kids knew enough to get away, and no one ran in front of a bus or car! How frightening.

Oh my!! It is surprising how people shift when they need to.
When we were at a Firework display a month ago one set of fireworks went off into the crowd instead up into the sky and everyone flung themselves on the ground!

Wow! Scary! Makes my Swing-tipping-over-in-backyard-and-hitting-window-in-middle-of-night experience sound soooo not scary anymore...

Would've loved to see a few people's heart rates after that. Thank God no one was hurt.
