Gangsta is the preferred spelling, I believe. I be down wit da hood.

middle-aged-woman

Someone actually made a video of the Alanis Morisette song, but made the lyrics actually ironic, like "It's like rain on your wedding day...to the sun god..." I'm sure it's on youtube, but I'm not sure it's school appropriate.

When I think of you, I always thing: Gangsta!

Reluctant Blogger

Ooh that "Ironic" song is one of those I really can't bear. I try never to use the word as I know people use it wrongly all the time and am not convinced I'd get it right.

Gangsta eh? Tee hee! I've never been called that.

You need to start reading up in the urban dictionary in order become G. FO SHIZZLE!

I am going to have to get caught up on the current terms being used, so if a teenager calls me something I'll know what they are saying!

Manic Mommy

I'm afraid I'll never be gangsta so I'll have to live vicariously through you.

Can I just say that you owe me a new keyboard after I spit out my morning coffee. I don't "know" you but after reading your blog for a year or more I think "g" would be one of the last things I'd use to describe you. I do imagine it was probably meant as the highest compliment and THAT doesn't surprise me..........Still laughing though!

I live too far from the real world to even have kids who know gangsta-speak.
