Social Butterfly and I were having dinner at Rubios together Wednesday night. We were discussing that a few of her friends (not the closest ones) have recently gotten into minor scrapes—of the usual sort that 15 & 16-year old girls sometimes do.
Me: So, I have to ask . . . are you as good as you seem or are you just not getting caught?
SB (with a Mona Lisa smile): What can I say? I’m just not as wild as some of my friends.
Me (inside my head): I hope that’s the truth!
Yikes!
I text-messaged my oldest to wish him a good weekend... and added that I hoped he was making better choices than my first month of college.
He texted back laughter. I'm not sure how to take that!

Don't ask, don't tell? My biggest fears for my daughters' teen years all stem out of my own teen years. Yikes.

I hope so, too! I really didn't do much to get in trouble, and either did my husband. But, when I think about all the stuff my husband did in his early 20's it scares me (a lot of drinking and driving).

Mizz Social Butterfly is mom-savvy. ;-))
I had a huge social butterfly too. Now that she's grown, I hear all kinds of stuff I never knew. But it's all good.

It's the Mona Lisa smile that should have you waking up with a start at 3 a.m...
