| Really?! Nobody wants to hear my "stuck in the elevator" story? »
- Got stuck in an elevator.
- Ate so many Doubletree Hotel warm chocolate chip cookies that I can't give you an exact number. But it is possible probable it is in double-digits.
- Spent four days in a hotel populated almost entirely with the many teams run by the San Diego Shores water polo organization (which is not the club DB plays for). I saw the logo "Get Some" on the back of a t-shirt approximately 7,326 times this weekend. It is possible that if we meet at BlogHer I will work this phrase into a conversation. Perhaps, "Did Dooce get some in her Twitter battle with Maytag, or what?!"
- Went to bed at 1 a.m. three nights running.
- Celebrated my 24th wedding anniversary. Hubby slept in one queen-size bed with Danger Boy and I slept in the other one with Social Butterfly and Peanut. Romantic? No. Symbolic of the wonderful family we've built together? Yes.
- Drank adult beverages with some of my favorite peeps--the parents on Danger Boy's former team. Sob.
- Inquired (perhaps not quite sotto voice) as to whether or not a referee's whiste was brand new as he was sooooo fond of blowing it. Seriously, dude, it's 18U water polo--let the boys play!
- Watched my son and an opposing player both get yellow-carded for "excessive simulation." That may or may not be a real call, but it was the first time any of us had ever heard of it. Same ref as above. They quit "simulating."
- Watched my boys (DB and teammates) get some in the pool with an exciting and close game against a team from Missouri in their final game on Tuesday.

My personal favorite? "not-quite-sotto voice".
Also, I read "simulation" as "stimulation".

Happy Anniversary! My mind must be in the gutter, because "excessive simulation" just sounds dirty to me.

If they didn't know what excessive simulation was - how did they stop?! That kind of ref always makes the touraments so much more interesting to discuss over adult beverages.
Congrats on 24 years.
