MVP gets in at 8:30 tonight, and Grownup Girl and her boyfriend land about 10:30 (how awesome is to have house guests that find a great deal on a rental car so they can do their visiting and sightseeing without inconveniencing anyone?).
Danger Boy does not have the whole week off, so on Wednesday he and a teammate (the other SoCal player) will will head to Cleveland to visit that player's extended family for the holiday.
Today, Social Butterfly and I will be baking up a storm to send treat boxes to DB's hosts and fill our own cookie jar--pumpkin whoopie pies and molasses cookies are for-sures.
Mr. Fix-it has looked at the carpets with the critical eye one develops when expecting visitors and is having them cleaned in a bit. (I'm skeptical, but they say the fans will dry them by touchdown tonight and most of our floors are Pergo, so it's just bedrooms and area rugs).
If we are super-efficient today I might convince MFI to see The Descendants, which opens today, before the planes land and the chaotic fun which marks the holiday season commences.
Enjoy your weekend!
He might be dreaming about how fast carpets dry. Especially if you're having humidity like we're having here in LA, due to impending rain.
In the summer? When it's boiling hot? It always took my carpets 2 days to dry. However, I used professional guys and I don't whether if those rent them yourselves machines do the same amount of super soaking the pros use.
Wearing socks, thick socks, is a must if they're not totally dry.

My dh looks at carpets and sees they need cleaning; I see them and think, "Put enough people in here and no one will notice until they've already spilled something!"
My carpets have never dried all that quickly, so I wish you luck!
Enjoy your visiting family! You are so good to think of sending treats to DB's hosts. I should have thought ahead and made something to send with my MM to Rapunzel's family home. Oh, well. Obviously it's not my strong point. I need to take lessons!

Since returning from holiday I've noticed an extraordinarily consistent trend. Lots of people seem to be entering a period of uncertainty, turbulence and change.
