Social Butterfly's high school graduation party was an unqualified success. I'm pretty sure nobody didn't have a great time.
Social Butterfly's friends seemed to be having fun . . .
SB's extended family seemed to be having fun . . .
My friends seemed to be having fun . . .
SB's big brother seemed to be having fun . . .*
Best of all?
Social Butterfly seemed to be having fun . . .
*Yep, that's a shot of tequila. Just one. (With a Sprite chaser which is all kinds of amazing when you're talking about the recovery of a restricting anorexic.) Some teenagers need to straighten up and some teenagers need to loosen up. Every once in a while you've got to throw the parenting manual out and just go with your gut.**
**Note to the authorities: Of course it's NOT a shot of tequila. That would be breaking the law and posting about it on a public blog. What kind of idiot would do that? I suppose if one was trying to make the connection that the personality characteristics of always being a rules-followers and having a tendency to be rigid and inflexible about right and wrong are characteristics that make it possible for one to be a restricting anorexic with strong notions about "good" and "bad" food, one might post such a picture. In theory, of course.
She looks great! What a relief that she's turned that corner!

Well, of course that's just sugar water in the shot glass. ;)
I had trouble finding SB in the first picture because I was looking for a young woman who had been restricting her eating -- and I couldn't find skinny arms or face. Instead, I saw only happy and healthy young faces and bodies. It is very clear from the photos that SB (and the entire family) has been winning this battle for her health.
Keep up the fantastic work!
And of course, CONGRATULATIONS to the Graduate!

Congrats to you and SB - has it hit you yet? Pre-gaming is the new tradition - the authorities will have to deal...
