I think chickens are kinda cute too....as are cows. But Cows would take up more of that view!
You have good friends because you are a good friend!

Green Girl in Wisconsin

I hear that about chickens...and I guess they're hypoallergenic.

suburbancorrespondent,

I don't know - I'm thinking chickens are one of those polarizing types of subjects. I have a friend who hates them (her husband is a suburban livestock enthusiast). The happiest day of her life, to hear her tell it, was the day of the great Chicken Massacre, courtesy of some local hawks. Also, read The Egg and I. Betty McDonald was definitely not enamored of the creatures.

Gorgeous view! A friend of mine has some of those fancy chickens running around her barnyard. They are very pretty, with glossy, iridescent-ish wings...but there is no. way. I would have them.

Well, except pan-fried with mashed potatoes and a nice gravy.

My husband formerly claimed that he wanted to raise chickens (for the fresh eggs and insect control for the garden... plus the byproduct additive for the compost bin); however, when the opportunity arose to get a well-made coop from a moving sale, he declined. Truth is, he doesn't want to add anything to his life right now that requires care and attention.
My future DIL *loves* chickens. ♥LOVES♥ them! She has raised them, even dressed them up and played with them!

My sister wants to turn her kids old play structure into a hen house! I am not interested in having chickens, but I am with you on view properties!
