I swiped this off MVP's Facebook page. As my neighbor Brigid said, "You've got to keep that because he's not going to look like that forever." This is the same neighbor whose visiting brother was wondering who the hippie guy visiting our place was and was a little disbelieving when she said it was the same clean-cut, tall, broad-shouldered water polo player that used to LIVE in our house.
Clearly, MVP has embraced his genetic legacy (my father was [and still is to some extent] a honest-to-goddess, died-in-the-hemp, tree-planting hippie).
MVP was planning on graduating in December, but has decided to stay untl May to earn a minor in Sustainability to go alongside his Wildlife Biology major. I have to say it pleases me that he's taking that extra step to invest in his education as it is HIS money (or future money) that is paying for the extra schooling.
Do we all agree that an MBA and a career on Wall Street look unlikely?
I think it's wonderful that he's studying what he really loves.
P.S. Also, he could be known as The Butterfly Whisperer

My current CollegeMan has long (halfway down his back!) blond hair, black trenchcoat and Finnish heavy metal t-shirts....and a tall top hat with tiny My Little Ponies glued to the brim. What is with these dudes? ;-)

Where is he in that picture? What is the tattoo?
We all try out new looks in college. It's a rite of passage.

Maybe a career at the commodity exchange trading butterfly futures is in the cards.

i say, get the degree and then move to Boulder....that kind of look for business types is pretty much the status quo over there. (plus, it's an awesome place to visit!!)
the Butterfly Whisperer....that's funny.

Sometimes you just gotta swipe those fb pics. This is definitely one of those times!
He looks happy (and definitely less scary than my 20yo with uncut hair and beard).
I think it's great that he is following his passion up with education. Good for him, adding to his resume arsenal!
Where was this picture taken... cobblestone streets!

Clearly, he desires to invest in futures.

He looks fine to me...but I'm a musician so many of my friends look like hippies too.

and honestly, Wall Street would be greatly improved by a little less buttoning up.
Posted by: Claudia from Idiot's Kitchen | September 25, 2012 at 01:23 PM
I guess Wall Street is a no-go for his part... Ten the world is in greater need of graudates in Wildlife Biology and Sustainability than more bean counters embezzling our money and future.
