Scene: Love Field at Dallas, a busy terminal. Desperate for outlets, Denise (aka Jenn) and Alyson politely but, firmly and quickly, facilitate the removal of luggage. Denise plugs in her iPhone and begins dialing as Alyson marches purposefully in search of caffeine and spinach-feta breakfast wraps.
Alyson returns with the sustenance to find Denise engaged in consecutive spirited phone conversations peppered more than lightly with medical terms and lab values spoken with great speed and authority. Alsyon uses her phone to Skype Jenny, the reason behind the phone calls. The time until the flight is called is a blur of Skype, phone, FB chat thread reading and mutual astonishment at the medical travesty unfolding before them.
Ever punctual, Denise wraps things up and installs herself at Southwest Flight 1260 to San Antonio Boarding Lane B22 immediately when prompted to do so. In a more leisurely fashion, Alyson situates herself and finds herself giving a synopsis to the the rapt audience of those that have, by virtue of vicinity, found themselves anxious to hear more of the transfixing and horrifying tale of callous disregard for the life of a (to them) unkown person, apparently empathizing with the helplessness and anguish of the person at the center of this storm.
A rules-follower as well as punctual, Denise pops out of line to distribute business cards with her blog title to those who want to know the rest of the story as she pulls Alyson to her rightful position of B26.
As a comic aside, the young woman right in front of Denise dressed in a mononchrome beige Real-Housewife-of-Long-Island ensemble had to remove her headphones to hear the Gate Agent say, "You're B36, go to the back of the line." It was a little spot of sunshine in the midst of a swirling Texas Tornado of a day.
If you came here from the YellowChecker Cab, the Love Field Terminal, or FEAST, welcome--you will find both Jenny's story and my daughter's and our family's story under the "anorexia" tab. You have poured out into this cause--I'm amazed by your dedication.

If passion and energy can save lives, Jenny's recovery is assured.
I'm in awe.
