Danger Boy already opened his Amazon-shipped gifts of a good beard trimmer and a Magic Bullet, so I'm not giving anything away by sharing. When he called to say thanks, he said "Remember how you were always cooking brown rice and broccoli and stuff like that and I hated it?" (Why, yes, I do happen to remember--I used to joke that his preferred meal was a funnel and a bag of sugar.) "That's the kind of food I cook now" (this is his first year with a kitchen). If that's not a sign of adulthood, I don't what what is.
Happy 21st Birthday, Danger Boy . . . life with you has never been dull! Love you much, my Achy Breaky Jakey!
Here's the post I wrote for his 15 birthday--this blog has been a wonderful way to memorialize our lives.
Love it! It's funny how things turn out, isn't it? I used to tease my mom about the fact that every meal had to have a fruit and vegetable, and now I do the same thing! You did a great job with all your kids and it shows!

Foodwise, I thought adulthood was when we can wake up,eat cake for breakfast and not get scolded ;) Happy Birthday to your son.

Happy birthday to him!
That's pretty cool how he's all grown up right down to his taste buds now.

LOL I love that he told you he cooks that now. Happy Birthday!!
I too love looking back in my blog about things. I have a ton of scrapbooks but it's so easy to just hit search on my search bar to find things :)

The caption below his photo is the best. What a great young man you've raised. (ok, a couple of great young men!)
Wishing him a happy birthday!
XO

Maybe slip him this birthday tip: he could make one helluva good chocolate mousse by using silken tofu in it.
Or maybe save that for next year's bday.
Well done, all of y'all.

I wished him (and you) a happy birthday on facebook and forgot to follow through here!
Good for him, choosing to cook healthy foods.

We are entering the birthday season for our three who will be 20, 24 and (gulp) 25. No more teenagers. I look back at their accomplishments (and those yet to be realized) and I am so proud. Congrats and Happy Birthday to Danger Boy!

My 20 year old wanted a Magic Bullet for her holiday gift - to make protein drinks. So glad they grow up and get caught up with all the lessons we tried to teach!
