What a whirlwind of a month it was--and while it was unusual, there's no doubt that my life is tremendously busy and looks to stay that way for awhile. It confuses me that there's sometimes a sense today of the moral superiority of not being busy--I really do think we all need to honor our wiring. So while busy is making me happy and I am productive, busy I will be.
Today I am enjoying some quality time with blogs and one can't help but miss the good ol' days. Here I actually met the mysterious and rarely-photographed Suburban Correspondent three weeks or so ago and I didn't even blog it.
SC is fantastic and we could have hung out and chatted for many more hours than we did. It was a highlight in a trip full of highlights. No blog friends at conferences in Coronado and San Antonio, but met and hung out with amazing and brilliant people. Thelma and I spent more waking (and unwaking and bathroom-sharing) moments together than most people can do with their own spouses before the nerves start to fray. And the nerves didn't fray. I think that's pretty special.
My first non-running-full-speed weekend since 9/20-21 is in its last few hours. More's the pity. But I am caught up at work, have a massage scheduled for Tuesday and think I've replaced the sleep deficit (which I know is not possible but, in any event, I hope to commence being able to stay up past 8:30 p.m. tomorrow night).
Social Butterfly got into University of New South Wales for spring semester--so early March! So exciting! Also reassuring that I have some great connections for oversight on her medical condition--makes it much easier to be joyful.
Maybe we should all agree to write one post a month . . . NaBloPo something . . . I am guilty of neglecting this blog and yet it's too hard to say goodbye to all my true friends--and to the writing and storytelling and the pictures and the authentic and often vulnerable voices.
Thoughts?
I say you catch up with the blog when you can….don't ditch it and don't feel guilty when you're busy. That's my 2 cents.
So glad everything is well….you're a busy person no matter what, so you might as well be busy with important stuff!
Congrats to SB! That is so darn exciting for her; so happy for all of you!

What a fun update. I'm with you on at least a monthly update. For now, anyway, as life is smacking me upside the head and everywhere else.
So cool that you met SC and congrats on your daughter's cool opportunity!

I miss reading everyone's stories, too - I love Facebook, but Facebook updates are just not the same! I loved meeting you, too, although I keep forgetting to blog about it. Congrats to SB! And now you have an excuse to visit Australia...

Sorry I missed you when you were in San Antonio! But I am glad you had so much fun.
I miss blogging and reading blogs, too. In fact, I just blogged about it yesterday!

I vote don't abandon the blog, despite your feelings of Not Getting To It Enough. There have been many months where one post a month has typified my place, but when I'm ready to hit the thing, it's such a relief to know it's there for me. So maybe give this place just enough attention to keep us all on the string?
Congrats to the New South Wales girl! That's the stuff of lifetime memories.

SB is going to University of New South Wales -- how awesome! This is something I hadn't seen on fb and would have missed entirely.
Please keep blogging when you can manage a post here and there. I certainly enjoy it more than facebook (even though I hang out there way more often than I should).
